The Quaker Arts Network (QAN) expects to be at the Greenbelt festival this summer for the first time. Greenbelt takes place 22-25 August at Broughton House near Kettering. You can find out more at https://www.greenbelt.org.uk. It will be a great opportunity for Quaker and sustainability outreach as well as for fun, learning, and community building.
We are planning a mix of small-scale activities and resources about Quakers and our witness, and preparing a couple of craft workshops as part of the main programme, based on a version of the Loving Earth Project.
Please consider whether you or any Friends you know might be interested in participating. It’s a wonderful, all-age festival, and it would be lovely to have some Living Witness Friends there.
QAN is seeking volunteers to help with setting up the gazebo and the activities. Potential volunteers are encouraged to contact qanevents@gmail.com at the earliest opportunity. Details will be sent out in May to those expressing an interest in joining the team.
QAN also needs help funding the gazebo (estimate £5,000) and volunteers’ expenses. Donations welcomed at https://quakerarts.net/contact/joining-and-supporting-us/
On Saturday 1 June, QAN has a one-day event at the Priory Rooms in Birmingham where you can find out more about the Greenbelt project, other Quaker Arts activities around the country, and meet some of those involved. See https://quakerarts.net/events/.
