Big history of the Porter, so it must be with waterways,
the Porter Brook has very early working dams,
which trapped then moved the water, powering machines.
These dammed areas are still here, now as pretty ponds,
but powerful still as water is, and the whole environment
holding as it does, vibrations with expectations in the air,
in the water and from good actions over years.
And now I toss flower heads in the Porter Brook,
adding to that energy while urgently floating along.
